do not feed humans copyThe thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. —John 10:10 NKJV

If you’ve ever gone to any zoo or wild-life observation trip, you may have noticed signs posted that read something like this: “WARNING: Do Not Feed The Bears”. These waning signs are there to help keep the wildlife from being domesticated or tamed like house-pets from their natural animalistic instincts.

Darkness has a way of feeding us the things that we think we need in order to domesticate us, or bribe us out of our natural God-given instinct which is dominion. You see, if what we’re supposed to be pursuing and hunting for is being feely given to us; we become pets of the one that is providing. Like a well-trained dog, we learn to sit, stay, come and bark on command for the miserable reward of a meager treat.

We were created for dominion NEVER for domestication.

Our instincts become dull and numb because we no longer are exercising and sharpening our God-given instincts as His children. We become completely reliant and dependent on things that were never meant to be our source. Remember that he who feeds also leads. Have you settled for easy? Have you made laziness your home?

Have you sold your God-given greatness for complacency? Have you forfeited your potential for comfort? Have you allowed yourself to be housebroken, domesticated and trained as darkness’s pet? Have you traded God’s best for good enough just because it’s less work? Have you accepted crumbs from the table of slavery just because crumbs falling off the table rake less or no effort to gather? Have you exchanged your wild and free God-given nature for a cage and chains of safe temporary and momentary convenience?
